You don’t drive the same car or truck as everyone else…why choose the same automobile insurance?
Tailor your vehicle’s insurance to suit your needs. Consider the following when choosing the type of automobile insurance that is right for you:
Personal Liability & Property Damage (PL&PD) Insurance
By law you must have insurance in the event of personal liability (for example, you back up and hit someone) or property damage (for example, you back up and hit someone’s fence). This is called PL&PD insurance. If an accident occurs causing damage to a person or their property, this third-party liability insurance has you covered.
The Financial Services Commission of Ontario offers this advice on PL&PD:
While you are legally required to carry a minimum of $200,000, you may want to increase this coverage. The cost to increase your Third-Party Liability coverage to $500,000, $1 million or $2 million is small in most cases.
